How the End of the De Minimis Exemption Will Impact US Shoppers and Businesses

The Trump administration has ended duty-free imports for packages under $800, known as the de minimis exemption, likely leading to higher costs for US consumers as businesses increase prices.

The Trump administration on Friday ended US duty-free imports of packages worth less than $800, the so-called “de minimis” exemption that has fuelled a surge in shipments from global sellers to US consumers who will now likely face higher prices.
