Carhartt WIP is part of the WIP Trading AG. Our family-owned business group started as a licensee and European distributor of the US workwear manufacturer Carhartt in the early 1990s. Since then, it develops its own collections based on workwear originals.

Carhartt Work In Progress aims to continuously progress and evolve, without ever losing sight of its origins. Over the course of the past three decades, our business has developed organically, along with its customers, the culture that surrounds the brand, and its employees who have helped shape what Carhartt WIP is today.

For our office in Milan, we are looking for a HR Coordinator (m/f/x), part-time (30 hrs/week), to cover a maternity leave and support HR activities in Italy across Retail, Wholesale, Admin, and Showroom teams.

 

Your Responsibilities

HR Admin

  • Support the employee lifecycle management (onboarding, contract changes, offboarding).

  • Track and verify attendance, sick leave, holidays, and absences for payroll processing.

  • Manage documentation, including contracts, letters, certifications, and digital archiving.

  • Liaise with external payroll providers and labor consultants.

  • Manage risk prevention, medical check-ups, and mandatory trainings.

Recruitment & Talent

  • Post job ads, screen CVs, and coordinate interviews.

  • Assist hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. Prepare onboarding materials and ensure a smooth welcome for new hires.

  • Track performance reviews.

HR Operations & Support

  • Update policies and procedures.

  • Support HR reporting and collection of HR KPIs.

  • Maintain accurate employee data in HR system (Workday)

  • Assist with training programs, development initiatives, and HR projects.

  • Provide first-line support to employees on HR-related inquiries.

Projects

  • Participate in European HR projects and work closely with the HR HQ.

Your Profile

  • Proven experience in a similar HR role, ideally in retail or multi-site environments.

  • Degree in Human Resources, Law or Business

  • Knowledge of Italian labor law and social relations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, pragmatic and solution-oriented.

  • Autonomous, organized and comfortable managing priorities.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.

  • Experience with Workday is a plus.

  • Occasional travel within Italy to support stores and HR projects.
