Position Overview
Ralph Lauren is seeking an FP&A Analyst to join the North America Retail FP&A team supporting the Polo Retail Outlets channel. This role partners with cross-functional teams to support the development of the long range plan, forecast & annual budget & monthly financial close process. The ideal candidate is a proactive finance professional who can multitask, communicate clearly, and apply strong analytical judgment. A solid foundation in finance/accounting and working knowledge of retail concepts are required to partner effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Prepare monthly forecasts for store-level and overhead expenses, partnering with functional teams (e.g., supply chain, marketing, store operations, brand presentation, accounting) to update/evaluate assumptions. · Support and help oversee the monthly close (reclasses, accruals, etc.), ensuring entries recorded by Corporate Accounting reflect business activity. · Partner with business leaders to manage expenses by gathering/reviewing assumptions, providing timely reporting, and recommending actions to stay on budget/forecast. · Assist departmental leads in identifying risks, efficiencies and/or opportunities through analysis. Alert management to potential areas of exposure and recommend solutions to ensure on-budget performance. · Develop executive-ready reporting and targeted analysis of key business drivers to inform operating and strategic decisions. · Support the annual budget and long-range planning processes; complete ad hoc analyses and prepare reports/presentations as needed. Process Analysis and Improvement · Through financial partnership with business partners, ensure teams are following appropriate Corp and Financial policies/processes. Alert management of potential areas of exposure or risk of proper compliance. · Analyze existing processes and identify process improvement opportunities and provide support as new processes are coordinated and put in place within and across divisions · Build finance reporting that leverages systemic reporting and global standards for consistency.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Qualifications: · Minimum of 2-3 years of Finance or Accounting experience; FP&A in a multinational or retail company preferred but not required · Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint Systems. Experience with SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, a plus · Excellent communication, both verbal and written, along with the ability to influence and demonstrate confidence in communications with business partners · Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills are required · Agile learner - able to quickly assimilate relationships between variables under analysis · Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including deadline-sensitive priorities · Flexibility in adjusting and reprioritizing to meet changing needs in a fast-paced work environment Must have highest degree of accuracy with a strong attention to detail · Must be self-motivated/self-starter with the ability to work independently · Team player possessing a strong work ethic
