Inside IED’s New Master of Arts Programme: Textile Design, Eco-Threads

With new Master of Arts programmes across its European campuses, IED Istituto Europeo di Design aims to equip postgraduate students with the skills required of sustainability-forward fashion and design practices.
The image shows a group of six people, likely students or visitors, gathered around a large central table inside a vintage-style clothing archive or fashion resource center. They appear to be examining textiles, garments, or fashion materials laid out in front of them. The space is surrounded by racks of clothing on both sides, featuring an eclectic mix of outerwear, including trench coats, jackets, and coveralls. The environment has a rustic-industrial aesthetic with exposed brick columns and arched ceilings. On the right wall, an orange jumpsuit is displayed alongside framed textile charts. The foreground features a glass display case containing printed materials and fabric swatches. The overall setting conveys a hands-on, educational fashion experience in a curated archival space.
IED's new MA, 'Textile Design, Eco-Threads: Materials and Circularity,' examines how fashion and its ecosystem is evolving to focus on sustainable resources that generate positive change in society and the environment. (Cristina Andolcetti for Studio Casati)
